“LUCILE” was written by Owen Meredith, who is also known as Lord Lytton.  This edition, which was published by Thomas Y. Crowell & Co. is dedicated to his father.  The copyright is 1885.  The book has a green hardcover, which is decorated in a floral pattern.  The corners show ware, but is in overall good condition.  The pages are edged in gold leaf.  The interior of the book is in very good condition, the pages are clean and the binding is tight.  The frontispiece is a wood engraving of a portrait of Lord Lytton.  The pages are beautifully decorated with a stenciled picture, which surrounds each page, the color of which alternates between brown and blue.  The book is illustrated with 34 pictures in the text, and contains 369 pages.
